Demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ

We put God’s love into action by following the teachings of Jesus. Together, we build communities where love and grace abound for everyone. We serve as the hands and feet of this compassion, believing that even our smallest efforts can multiply to achieve extraordinary things. Through faith, we build respectful partnerships with our neighbors, because a better world starts with a decent and affordable home.

Focus on shelter

We believe that a stable life starts with a decent and affordable home. To put God’s love into action, we build, renovate, and preserve houses alongside local families. Together, we build strength and stability by partnering with our community to expand access to affordable housing. Every safe, affordable home provides a strong foundation for families to break the cycle of poverty and thrive.

Advocate for affordable housing

Inspired by the call to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God, we advocate for fair housing policies that break down systemic barriers. Together, we build a global movement to ensure everyone has access to a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. We believe that housing is a fundamental human right. By partnering with our community, we seek to change hearts, minds, and policies until unstable housing becomes entirely unacceptable.

Promote dignity and hope

We believe that true dignity is shared, and no one lives in dignity until everyone can. Lasting hope starts with a decent and affordable home. By building alongside our neighbors, we create strong communities where everyone has a safe place to live, contribute, and grow. Together, we build dignity and hope through collaborative, accountable partnerships.

We know that sustainable community development starts with a decent and affordable home. Together, we build lasting, transformational change that strengthens neighborhoods socially, economically, and spiritually. Our work succeeds when we build alongside our partners, establishing relationships grounded in mutual trust and shared achievements. We honor every contribution by practicing responsible, transparent stewardship of all resources entrusted to us.

Non-proselytizing policy
Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations will not proselytize. Nor will HFH work with entities or individuals who insist on proselytizing as part of their work with HFH. This means that HFH will not offer assistance on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
